Life, Lab, and the Pursuit of Happiness

Name:

I love cross-stitching, I would do it all day long if I didn't have to do silly things like work and clean house. My dream job? To have own my very own stitchy store w/ my best friend so we can sell our hand-dyed fabbies that we haven't started working on yet!

Wednesdays are really long

Wow, it is amazing how slowly a week can go by. For example, I could have sworn yesterday it was Thursday, so here I am waiting out my Wednesday. And I haven't had a moments rest! You would totally think that would make the time go by more quickly. But all is good, I am sure 20 years from now I will have been wondering where all the time went, and how I wish it would have gone slower.

Travis has been a little down and out this week, he's got a cold that just won't go away. Poor guy's nose is running non-stop, and he passes out on the couch the moment he can. I think the cats are comforted by his snoring though! :-) Today he had the math department over for lunch since today was an early release day. So we had fun cleaning house last night once I got home. Well, I was cleaning house, and Travis was busy giving Gretchen interviewing pointers. ;-) Good luck with that Gretchen, you will blow them away.

We've been a bit on edge everytime the phone rings this week. Brandi's contractions started this weekend, but they aren't really making any progress last we heard. I can only imagine how she feels! Probably excited, but dreading it a bit at the same time. Can't wait until we have another little Martin in the world! Lucky for Brandon and Travis, it's another little boy for them to wrestle with and teach to be manly. Good work with that guys!

Not a whole lot else going on. I am finally done with classes forever and ever (until I decide to get another degree. Hmm... maybe interior design?). I can't express my joy. Well, maybe I can. I am insanely ecstatic about it really. Now I get to focus full time on my research for about a year, then I have to take my comprehensive exams, then back to my work! Hopefully brilliant ideas will somehow leak through the many cracks in my head and get me out of here relatively quickly. But then again that would mean that Travis would have to leave his awesome job which he loves so much. We will have to see how things go.

Travis has one week left of the school year, he is really looking foward to a bit of a break this summer. Well, don't know about a break, but he is definately excited about the home improvements we plan to tackle the next few months. Painting anyone? Wow, we are so domesticated, sometimes it's depressing. Shouldn't our summer plans be filled with concerts, road trips and beaches? All in due time I suppose.

Well, keep in touch everyone. Still working on getting the pics back up and running, maybe tonight. Love you all.
