Happy Memorial Day!
Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone! Hope you are all enjoying the weather and the extra day off (if you are lucky enough to get one!). I was hoping to have time to do this entry earlier in the week, but you know how that goes, especially when you have told yourself you want to get it done.
Last weekend was an eventful one. I would like to welcome Cayton Matthew Martin into our family, he is too super cute! And congratulations to the happy parents, Brandon and Brandi! Brandi's water broke on Friday afternoon, and after many hours of working hard and not progressing, they ended up doing a C-section. Not what they were planning on, but mom and baby are doing very well. He arrived at 7:35 on Saturday morning. Here's his stats:
Birthday: May 21, 2005
Length: 20.5 inches
Weight: 7 lbs. 0 oz.
He is quite perfect in every way, and Brandi was an amazing mom. She even managed to entertain the entire clan of in-laws that had invaded her room while she was totally and completely exhausted! Brandon was every inch the proud father and supportive husband, Brandi couldn't have asked for more. It was by far the happiest and most exciting family get together we've had this year ( and maybe even last year too). I'm just a bit disappointed they live so very far away, how am I supposed to get to baby-sit every other weekend? :-)
Our lives here in Columbia have been simplified a bit, Travis is now out of school for the summer. He'll be working at Circuit City all summer, but he's got about a week off to hopefully catch up on some stuff he's been meaning to do. Maybe our gutters will get cleaned this year! Lab will still be taking up a lot of my time, and I must begin to prepare for my first seminar. I am getting more and more nervous as the day gets closer and closer. Ahhhhhh!
Well, I am going to go, I've got to get a pic or two up here for everyone to see, and Star Wars is calling to me. I am finally going to get to see Episode III!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a bit excited. Love you all, and take care!
